Diss suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of newly-promoted Brooke at Rectory Meadow on Saturday.

Looking to bounce back from the opening day defeat at Cromer, Diss won the toss and elected to bowl. Following a slow start they picked up the big wicket of Panter for 30 when Robbie West, back from playing for Great Boulder in West Australia jagged back a pacy delivery which carted into the top of middle stump.

Next to go was Porter (6) when he was superbly run out by a direct him from Chenery. Brooke wicketkeeper Collings was stumped by his opposite number Ben Green off the bowling of Mark Williamson and Watson became Williamson's next victim with the very next ball when he was bowled for a golden duck.

Sturman fell the same way, being bowled by Williamson again for 0, before Chris Cooper bowled Habersham for just three. The seventh wicket fell with just 93 on the board when Dave Tooke snared a sensational slip catch off Williamson which accounted for Setchell. A valuable tail-end performance from Nudd earned him 12 not out while Stone reached double figures before he was caught and bowled by Chris Cooper, with Robert Tooke wrapping up the innings by trapping Beaumont leg before, leaving Brooke all out for what looked a below-par 129.

With 52 overs to chase down 130 Diss knew they needed to simply bat sensibly on a wicket with variable bounce. Williamson's great form with the ball was not transferred to his batting when he was clean bowled for 0. Dave Tooke came and went for just six before Simon Cooper progressed comfortably into the 20s before he was given out LBW off Habersham's bowling. Diss looked to be in some early bother with Rob Tooke falling in the same fashion just two balls into his innings with Diss now on 39-4. Captain Phil Squire misfired with the bat again with a score of just seven before Habersham bowled him. Chris Cooper and Andy Horobin looked to have steadied the ship as Diss crept up to 61 before Horobin became Habersham's fifth victim of the day. A disastrous collapse then ensued with Chenery (1) Fletcher (0) and West (1) all going cheaply. Throughout all this Chris Cooper had remained as Diss' only real shining light with the bat ,with his two huge sixes being rare highlights. He was joined by Green, with the last pair needing 40 to win. Unfortunately Cooper perished with one of this trademark big lofted drives, leaving Diss all out for 100. Habersham finished with the superb figures of 7-28 off 12 overs.

Diss need to turn their fortunes around fast, starting at Ashmanaugh and Barton Wanderers on Saturday.
