Diss Town secured their place in the first round proper of this season's FA Vase with a dominant display at Lincoln Moorland Railway, winning 5-1.

The Tangerines ran out 5-1 winners despite finding themselves a goal down after 26 minutes, as the pace down the wings of Rob Taylor's side tore the Northern Counties East League Premier Division side to pieces.

Town's equaliser came after the half hour, Luke Catchpole crossing for Brendan Foley to head in, and four minutes later George Wilson picked up the ball before letting rip with a 25-yard effort to put the Tangerines ahead.

Danny Partridge was brought down in the 40th minute to earn Adie Hayes a goal from the spot by half-time and Diss hit the woodwork three times before the 77th minute finally delivered their fourth goal; Danny McKail beating his defender before netting.

Ben Deacon completed a good afternoon's work with five minutes remaining, deflecting in James Wilson's effort.

Diss will face Mildenhall Town in the first round on October 4, after the Suffolk side accounted for Thetford in their weekend tie.

Against Stowmarket Diss lost 2-1. They made just one change to the team which had won impressively at Lincoln - Osiris Gomes replaced the unavailable Danny McKail.

However, Stowmarket secured their first league win of the season in a poor-quality match which was littered with niggling fouls and left the home faithful frustrated.

Danny Jones, on for the injured George Wilson, made his debut after joining from Thetford and put a shot high after his cousin, Luke Catchpole, beat a defender and saw his cross headed out.

Diss took the lead when an inswinging corner by Catchpole caused confusion at the near post. The ball was deflected into the centre of the goal for MoM Brendan Foley to head home.

Stowmarket's Tom Dellar collected a ball into the penalty area to make it even and then Sam Bartholomew netted high over Camidge after a free-kick.
