Diss RFC first team return to action at Mackenders for the first time in seven weeks, looking to recover from last week's heavy defeat at Old Albanians.

Diss have to play the four teams below them in the league before the end of the season so a win here will go a long way to easing any fears of relegation.

The Saracens are playing at home against Norwich in a friendly. The thirds host North Walsham 2.15pm. Diss are still top of the league, four places higher, so there will be not only local rights up for grabs, but also Diss must keep one eye on the title race.

Tring 45, Diss 20

WELL done to both sides for a good game of rugby in the heat, with Tring guaranteeing safety. Tring backs showed their power and new No 10 Ben Selwyn scored a try, converted by Tom Newton who later added a penalty.

It was obvious that the Diss pack were dominant and within 10 minutes a sustained period of pressure led to a pushover try for Tim Groom, unconverted. Tim Holgate scored for Tring, again converted, but again the Diss pack responded and pushed over for Groom's second try. Selwyn beat the Diss tackling to score another try and together with two penalties it was 25-10.

In the second half Steve Hipwell broke off the back of the scrum to score for Diss. Selwyn scored again before Hipwell replied. Two more penalties and a controversial try finished off the scoring.
