In 1983, the late Eric Wright, a former club captain, president, vice-president and life member, formed a veterans' section, which started with just 10 members and an annual turnover of £23.

It now boasts 325 members and a 2008 turnover of over £15,000.

Chris Castle (42 points) was the winner of the engraved crystal bowl, with treasurer Denis Cheek, who organised the event, finishing second with 40. Third was Phil Robinson and there were 63 entrants.

Prizes were presented by Paul Wright, the club captain.
