Diss Town open new campaign at Great Yarmouth in FA Cup

Diss Town play their first competitive match of the season on Saturday - and it’s certainly a case of being thrown in at the deep end.
The Tangerines kick off their campaign with a tough FA Cup extra-preliminary round tie against Great Yarmouth Town at the Wellesley (3pm).
The Bloaters finished fifth in the top flight of the Thurlow Nunn League last season while Diss were sixth in Division One.
It will be the first major test for the new management team of Jason Cook and his assistant Justin King, who joined the Tangerines during the summer following a successful spell with Haughley United in the Suffolk and Ipswich League. They came in following the exit of Ross Potter to Wroxham, who were relegated to the Thurlow Nunn Premier Division last season. Potter is being assisted by Tom Parke, who had been due to be his assistant at Diss. Diss’ first home game is against Halstead on August 12.
