Dominant Diss

Diss maintained their 100pc record in London Two North after four games with a convincing 38-17 win over Stevenage.

With winger Aaron Bliss scoring four tries and skipper Adam Williamson weighing in with five conversions and a penalty, there was plenty for the supporters to celebrate.

The ball was cleverly recycled and Bliss scorched across the line to score, with Williamson converting.

Andy Thorpe collected the ball close to his own line and broke through the opposition defence, fed the ball out to full-back Chris Beaird who scored on the left. Again Williamson made a tricky conversion look easy.

The Stevenage pack were a force to be reckoned with and hooker Tavita Faamausili ran down the blind side to score an unconverted try.

Bliss, for Diss, picked up when Stevenage lost the ball and scored a try behind the posts, converted.

Stevenage continued to pose Diss some problems and as they tried to press home one of their attacks a loose pass was intercepted by Bliss, who outpaced all opposition to score his third try, again converted.

Two minutes later, after Diss took possession in front of their own posts, came the best try of the day. Thorpe once again broke through the defence before timing his pass to perfection, giving the ball out to Beaird. He skilfully drew in his opposite number before passing to Bliss, who scored with Williamson converting.

The second half was somewhat of an anti-climax. Diss found themselves under more pressure up front.

The home side did not help their own cause by conceding a series of penalties for offside. The referee eventually yellow carded prop Matt Richards and Stevenage were quick to exploit their advantage to score a push-over try, which Gareth Lewis converted.

Williamson converted a penalty and then after conceding a penalty close to their own line, the Diss defence was broken by quick Stevenage ball. Alec Wilcox scored, unconverted.
