Norfolk's Double Olympian Colin Oates travelled to Breckland Leisure Centre in Thetford to fight for his Kumo Judo club in the Anglian Open Team League.

Fighting in Division One Oates won all five fights as he helped his club finish a respectable third position to secure the bronze medal.

He was supported by fellow team mates Aaron Pearce and Ben Tippett, both of whom had come out of retirement to support the Lopham and Diss based judo club. The five man Team League saw Ryecroft Judo Club win the trophy, dethroning last year's champions Norwich Premier Judo. The Black Dog Judo Club based in Bungay won the second division title and secured promotion to the top flight by winning all their matches. The ladies division was won by Comberton in a fabulous sudden-death fight against Kin Ryu from Sussex.

Oates will continue to deliver master classes up and down the country while he contemplates his international future.
