2L Banger World Champion Dean Mayes (Diss) was in fine form at the Norfolk Arena last weekend when he attended the first world qualifier.

He put in a great performance which culminated in taking the chequered flag from the back of the grid in a 40 plus car heat and third place in the final with a fantastically entertaining performance where Mayes hit virtually every other car on the grid!

Stock car and banger racing returns to the Norfolk Arena this weekend with the F1 Stock Cars and 2L Stock Cars in action on Saturday (6.30pm) and the annual Wacky Races taking place on Monday (1pm).

Former 2L stock car and current Lynn Track campion David Aldous (Diss) will be hoping for a better Lynn performance than at the season opener on March 1 where he was involved in virtually every incident in the raceway and failed to finish in the places.

Having given his rivals a head start in the track championship, David will now be going all out to make sure he can make up lost ground.

Monday sees the TSR Bangers in action as part of the annual Wacky Races where Geoff and Tony Smart (both Diss) will be making their season debuts.
