Carole Baker, the Diss bowls player who was surprisingly left out of the England team for the women's home international series in Perth in March, has had a swift and unexpected recall to duty.
When the team was announced before Christmas, the Norfolk star, who had played with distinction in four consecutive series, was named as a reserve, but the withdrawal of Cumbria's Karen Edmondson, for personal reasons, has allowed Baker back into the team.
Baker, a prolific winner of national titles, who played third to Sandy Hazell last year, will line up as number two to Debbie Stavrou.
