Former England batsman Graham Thorpe was guest speaker at Stradbroke Cricket Club's presentation evening, in front of over 100 members & family.

As recently employed England batting coach, he was able to give an insight into how the Ashes can be retained this winter, what it takes to become atop international cricketer, and how easy it is to be lured into match fixing.

This was followed by handing out the following awards: Players of the Year: Josh Franklin-Mann(1st XI), Stuart Taylor(A Team), Billy Freeman(B Team), Ollie Bickley(Academy), Liam Smith & Kieran Allum(joint U-15), Dan Taylor(U-13)(pic 1), Will Bacon & Tommy Auchterlonie(joint U-11), Kate Thompson(Girls).

The newly-awarded Flag Deck Trophy in memory of James Grigg for the Clubman of the Year, went to Steve Bacon.

With the U13 and Under 11 sides both retaining their North Suffolk leagues, the future looks bright.
