It was another exciting week of fishing for Diss Angling Club,

Two outings and a match down at Eye made up the week's events.

Eye held the midweek match with good weight coming from the second pond once again. Ben Wilby had the best of the day's action with his net of skimmers, roach, rudd and chub and finished the match with his net of fish which went 10lb 3oz.

Second on the day was Barry Day, who fished the waggler for his bag of fish which went 5lb 8oz on the scales. Third was Colin Lea with 5lb 3oz.

The first of the weekend's outings matches was at Besthrope Farm Fisheries on the Saturday.

Tough conditions met the anglers from Diss, as the going was slow, with only a few carp making up the bulk of the nets of fish.

Barry Day took the honours when he pole fished close in with bread dripping through the upper layers to take carp, which when the scales came round went 21lb 9oz.

Second was Terry Hewittson, who pole fished and took carp until midway through the match, when he switched to the whip to take roach and rudd, building up his final weight to 20lb 9oz.

Third was Ben Wilby with 19lb 14½ oz, which included a carp of 12lb 6oz.

Sunday saw Diss head down to the Ocean Pit at Harleston. Peter Wall started the day on the tip and stuck it out for around two or three hours before switching to the pole, as the feeder wasn't working.

Fishing at around 11metres, Wall took good roach to 11oz, as well as a few perch, and soon put together a good weight which went 16lb 4oz and took first place, and saw Wall lift the Whitehorse Cup.

Second was Jason Rigby. Jason too started on the feeder, but switched to the pole in a search of fish and this switch rewarded him with roach and perch which went 11lb 15oz on the scales. Third was Andrew Mears with 9lb 10z, which included a bream of 5lb 1oz.
