Football Youth Notes

Will Frary started the scoring early with a great goal within the first minute. Toftwood were quick to respond and came back almost immediately to equalize. Diss then came straight back with a goal from Thomas Lymbery quickly followed by his second. With Caleb Palmer and Adam Neal Playing well keeping the pressure on Toftwood, Diss were able to win a corner enabling Dylan Wilby to score from close range. Nearing the end of the first half Toftwood managed to pull a goal back despite some good defending by Liam Hamling and Louis Land.

Half time score 4-2.

Thomas Lymbery got the second half going with a fine strike on goal giving him his hat-trick. Toftwood managed to get one back past keeper Lewis Allen who was putting in fine performance. With Christopher Lymbery playing well in mid-field Max Bowen was to complete the scoring in the last minutes of the game making the final score 6-3.

DISS TIGERS U10 stay top with a comfortable win over Firside. After a good spell of Diss pressure Joe Collett shot wide before Oliver Budd latched onto a loose ball to put Diss ahead with a fine strike and could have doubled his tally with a volley that rattled the cross bar. Oliver Budd in midfield and Ryan Davidson in defence totally controlled the game for Diss and were both outstanding. Diss keeper Kyle Bullingham showed his class as he had nothing to do for long spells, but was on hand with a great reflex save before half time.

The second half was much the same, Diss kept Firside penned in their own half, Aidan Browne picked out Charlie Norman with a good cross who just shot wide, Davidson then worked the keeper with a long range effort and Aaron Noller worked hard with no reward, but it was Elliott Winkworth who out paced the defence to fire home and seal what should have been a more convincing score line.

DISS HAWKS U10 played away to Weeting with an unlucky start with Weeting scoring first despite keeper Drew Cotton making some good saves. The Hawks got back in the game and with some good team work a goal from Nathan Faulkner to make the half time score 1-1. The Hawks dominated the second half with shots from George Costello, Theo Sloos and Samuel Brice but just couldn't score from them. Weeting found gaps and scored another two. Then came a fantastic goal from Freddie Bunn who was over his own half way line to give the Hawks their second. More shots were fired at Weeting's keeper from Jacob Ready and Theo Sloos but couldn't get the back of the net. Nathan Faulkner then put away his second goal. In the last five minutes keeper Drew Cotton was badly fouled and was taken off injured, Henry Ready took his place and made some good saves. Final score 3-3. MOM: Jacob Ready.

New Buckenham U11 0 DISS TOWN U11 5

DISS TOWN U11 made it 4 wins in a row with another fine team display. Diss dominated from the start but could not find a way past the New Buckenham keeper. Kieran Allan, Alex Chittock & Aiden Boosey were running a tight ship at the back, cutting out the opposition on the rare occasion they had an attack on goal. The breakthrough came late in the first half, a pin point accurate corner from Charlie Bowen was met in the air by the head of Mitchell Noller and the ball went like a bullet into the back of the net. Second half was much the same with Diss dominating and Dane Potter controlling the central midfield and Archie Clarkson working hard as usual. The second goal came after Charlie Bowen sailed down the wing past their defence and produced another great cross for Cameron Rossel to Cooley finish at the back post. Charlie Crawford was always in the thick of the action working hard in defence. Mitchell Noller then pounced with 2 more quick goals to claim yet another hat trick. Diss then conceded a penalty, but the great Owen Thompson-Browne pulled off another wonderful save. This his second penalty stop in the last 2 matches.

Diss were now in full control and Jack Burrows was unlucky not to get on the score sheet with a sweeping volley saved by the keeper. Goal number 5 came after some great battling work by Ryan Hook inside the area set up Cameron Rossell to slot home his second of the match.

These lads have a real chance of winning this league, every player always gives 200% and its down to this work rate and their superb attitudes that they are achieving these winning results.

EYE SAINTS U15 lost heavily 11-0 away to a strong Ipswich Athletic side. Having a depleted side & only ten men Saints started well. It was twenty minutes before Ipswich got there first goal but four more goals gave Ipswich a commanding half time lead. Ipswich scored a further six goals in a one sided second half to finish easy winners. Good saves from Saints keeper, Will Dickinson, kept the score down. Saints didn't let their heads drop with Cameron McKie & Levi Harris giving their all. All ten players didn't give up but they came up against a very strong Ipswich Athletic who with this win went top of the league. MoM goes to two players Cameron McKie & Levi Harris

HARLESTON STINGERS U9 ran out easy winners after a stunning hat trick from Jack Bettinson, but it had started badly . The Stingers were slow to start and found themselves two down within 10 minutes. Harleston pulled a goal back when Spencer Cawcutt finished smartly, but couldn't find a second before the break. In the second half Harleston were a completely different team playing some wonderful football and creating lots of chances, leading the team by example was captain Jack Bettinson who hit top form with a fantastic hat trick and all round display. Also scoring his first goal for the Stingers was the impressive Matthew Ayling in midfield. Harleston were still missing their regular goal keeper so a big thanks go to defender Connor Bacon who once again stepped forward to fill in a well deserved win.

HARLESTON U15 With both team keepers missing it was always going to be a tough game away for Harleston this week. The first half was pretty even with Nick Keeling, Joshua Lewis and Antony Burlton all combining well to cause Ormesby a lot of problems on the attack. Harleston went in at the break 2-1 down with Lewis scoring their only goal, though early indications looked good for the visitors to get something out of this game. After the interval Lewis netted his second to level the scores which encouraged them to up the tempo and go on to take the lead through Nick Keeling. Ormesby then went on to score four on the trot despite Harleston's third choice keepers best efforts to keep them out, this made the final score 6-3 to Ormesby. MoM this week was Nick Keeling for a fantastic attacking display.

LONG STRATTON U13 won 7-2 against Belton. Four goals from Max Sawyer and further goals from Adam Makin, Jamie West and Kieran Smith. CPS Fuels man of the match was shared by Jamie West & Casper King

LONG STRATTON U15 lost 3-2 at Caister. Caister took the lead in the first half but Stratton battled back brilliantly, Adam Race equalised with a stunning 40 yard free-kick. Laurence Breeze put the Reds ahead, slotting home after a corner. Caister were then reduced to 10 men after a dreadful challenge on Tom Normanton. With ten minutes left Caister made it 2-2 and then in the final minute they grabbed the winner. Stratton Glass man of the match was Adam Race

SCOLE U12 went into the game determined to make amends for last week's defeat, however they quickly fell a goal behind from Mulbarton's first attack. Scole responded well and there were a number of excellent moves down the left flank involving Dan Heffer and MOM Charlie Hitch (both on top form) and Bradley Hunt, who was unlucky to see his dipping effort crash off the crossbar and Thomas Browne, failed to slot home the rebound.

Mulbarton took a 2 goal lead against the run of play but Scole got back into the game just before the break when Bradley Hunt slotted home from close range.

The second half saw Scole dominate playing some fantastic passing football, however, Mulbarton defended deep and could have extended their lead when given a free kick from only 7 yards out for a back pass.

Scole got back on level terms when a Mulbarton player was unlucky to slice into his own net. With the scores level there was only one team that looked liked winning it and Anthony Animba got his first goal for the club to put Scole ahead. He didn't have to wait long for his second having been put through one on one with the keeper he slotted home coolly to wrap up a thoroughly deserved victory.

SCOLE GIRLS U14 7 Aylsham 2

This was the girls first match in 4 weeks and was for a place in the semi final of the Cup. The deadlock was broken in the 15th minute when Elizabeth Beckett played the ball down the line for Holly Burley who turned her marker brilliantly went to the byline and crossed for Rebecca Archibald to score. Scole continued to create chances with Holly hitting the post, Shannon also had a couple of chances to score. Aylsham were playing the offside trap and this frustrated Scole but just before half time Ellie Drake twice ran through the defence to score.

The second half started with Aylsham pulling a goal back, however Ellie again ran through the defence to score her hat trick, soon after Ellie scored her fourth and Scoles fifth before Jemima scored from a Bengisu Karakus cross. Player of the match Holly then scored a well deserved goal. A good performance from all the girls.

SCOLE LADS U14 battled well throughout this Cup game against the stronger Division 1 team Tollgate. Scole had a few opportunities but breaking through Tollgate's defences was hard. At half time Tollgate were (1-0) in the lead. Scole suffered the loss of 2 key players due to injury which left them struggling up front. Despite continuing to work hard, Scole couldn't get near enough to score. Sole's mid-field and defense played well but Tollgate kept their heads to win (3-0)

SCOLE U15 visited table topping Norwick without four first choice players - three due to injury and one no show. As expected Norwich dominated the early exchanges and went ahead after ten minutes but Scole fought back and on the half hour equalised when Max Bunting-Dixon outpaced the home defence to finish calmly. Two more goals before the break gave the home side a 3-1 lead. The second half followed the same pattern with Scole defending resolutely and again catching Norwich on the break late on to earn a penalty converted by Dan Taylor.
