Friendly win for Diss

In a pre-season friendy Diss RFC played Sudbury on a hot afternoon it was agreed to play the game in a series of four 20-minute sessions.

The final score will have pleased the coaching staff - but this was not as fluid a display as the previous week and with just two weeks to go before the league campaign begins, there remains more work to be done on the training ground.

After a swift move which saw the ball moved at pace down the back line, number eight Deaglan Hall scored an unconverted try.

In the second seasion, from a five-metre line-out a Diss catch and drive move was launched and the pack crossed the line for Gideon Rousseau to score.

In the third quarter scrum-half Seb Goodge set off on a run, wrong footing three players and sprinted across the line, and then converted it.

Sudbury scored a converted try but then Diss' numbereight replied with an unconverted try.

The last session saw Paul Cayley take possession on his own 22 and outpace the opposition defence to score just before the final whistle for a final score of Diss 27, Sudbury 7.
