Visitors Shrublands had more chances early on as Harleston U12s fought out a goalless draw.

Leighton Tompkins had a chance with a one-on-one with the Shrublands keeper, but unfortunately Tompkins put his shot wide. Shortly afterwards there was a close call for Harleston when rookie goalkeeper Joe Mayhew saved and the rebound was cleared off the line by Will Hawes.

The second half saw more end-to-end football, with a good save by Mayhew early on. Two further great saves by Mayhew resulted in the final few minutes being very tense.

Lewis Harvey made a last great attempt for goal but unfortunately the back of the net could not be found and the game ended 0-0.

It was a battling game, but lack of chances for Harleston meant they didn't make their efforts count. Goalkeeper Mayhew was undoubtedly the saviour for Harleston this week, and was the player of the match.
