Gold joy for Jodie

Three girls from Long Stratton Gymnastic Club took part in the regional recreational finals on Saturday in Ipswich.

Jodie Button won the club’s first regional gold medal on the bars.

Catherine Hughes came seventh on vault and 11th on floor. Natasha Pretty came eighth on bars and 12th on floor.

On Sunday four gymnasts took part in the level four general gymnasts competition in Stevenage. Kelsey Kent and Jodie Button won gold medals, Yasmine Baker and Layla Phillips coming fourth in there age. Three of the club competitors took part in the Special Olympics competition, Shaun Palmer, Becky Hale and Jade Gridley all winning gold in their age group.
