With the season of goodwill upon us, it was Diss Angling Club's Fur and Feather match last Sunday, where everyone who fishes brings a prize, so nobody leaves empty-handed.

Thirteen anglers made it to the bank side at Eye Ponds' old site for this festive match. Steve Harold came away as the day's winner, but probably felt his luck was out when he drew Peg 10, which has not thrown up a winner for quite a while.

Despite this, Steve made short work of the roach, rudd, chub and skimmers when he finished the day with 7lb 1oz. Second was Jimmy Ellis, who drew in the skimmer pit.

Ellis took roach and rudd plus skimmers to 8oz on the pole for his weight of 6lb 11oz. Third went to Peter Wall, who lost a 2lb plus carp which would have given him the win, but a hook pull cost Peter dearly as he finished with 5lb 10oz.
