HEMPNALL could well have ruined Cromer's chances of winning the Sterry Cup at the last minute.
The Crabs, who currently top the Anglian Combination Premier Division table, were beaten 2-1 by Hempnall on Tuesday night.
That was Cromer's last game but second-placed Blofield are just three points behind with two games left.
Hempnall have one game still to play, against mid-table Mattishall, but although they have risen to third they would not be able to overtake Cromer. On Saturday Hempnall visited Beccles Town and lost 2-1.
Cromer's north Norfolk rivals Wroxham Reserves could do them a huge favour by stopping visitors Blofield in their tracks tomorrow night, and United's final game will be at home against fifth-placed Beccles on Tuesday.
