Diss Ladies are a true grass-roots hockey club who were finally rewarded for a decade of hard work and dedication by being crowned champions of the Martin and Acock League Divison Three.

Diss Ladies were founded by a small group of enthusiastic individuals including Verity Catchpole and Emily Mendham back in 2000.

Despite struggling with lack of local facilities and funding they have evolved into a successful club with over 20 members including a good number of keen junior players.

Unfortunately, Diss town does not have a hockey pitch available for use, so the squad travels to East Harling for training and home games.

Many times the club has faced the threat of folding as they have lost players to the stronger multi-teamed clubs but have continued and enjoy a great team spirit with a fantastic coach in Jackie Catalano.

Sadly, Diss will be losing their fine goalkeeper Emily Mendham next season as she heads off to the army and are currently seeking a replacement goalkeeper.

The team is also keen to hear from anybody interested in sponsorship opportunities.
