Diss 4, Old Buckenham II 1

HOCKEY: Diss Ladies continued their good start to the season with a comfortable win against Old Buckenham II.

It took Diss a while to breach a solid Bucks defence but the visitors had no answer to prolific Diss striker Toni Glover who followed her opening-day hat-trick with two quick goals in the middle of the first half.

Diss continued to press with great work from Livvy Cates, Sam Howard and Gaby Rolingson in midfield not letting much through but it was it was Glover who added a third after 25 minutes.

The second half was a repeat of the first, lots of Diss pressure which culminated in Glover scoring another, her fourth of the game and seventh of the season. To Bucks’ credit they never gave up and stopped Diss adding to their tally even though Sam Howard hit a post. In fact, Bucks played better and got a well-deserved consolation goal towards the end of the game. Diss Player of the Match: Toni Glover.
