HOCKEY: Diss Ladies played UEA III full of confidence, looking to stay top of Division Two, but it became obvious that despite their lowly league postiion the hosts wouldn't be pushovers.
UEA pressed hard and condensed the play giving Diss no time or space on the ball, which stopped Diss playing the fast-flowing hockey which they like to play. But Diss took the lead through captain Sam Howard (pictured). Her briliiant shot from 10 yards found the net and she scored again soon after following a well-worked short corner. The rest of the first half was quite even.
In the second half Diss keeper Lisa Cave made a very smart save to deny the UEA forward.
UEA just couldn't cope with skill of Lucy Kershaw and Hayley Peverly and it was the latter who smashed home the third goal for a 3-0 win.
