Diss Town were awarded the Ridgeons Football League Integrity in Sport Award for the 2007/08 season at last Saturday's Ridgeons League dinner. The award is judged on three criteria - facilities, hospitality and discipline - with Diss coming top of the 41 Ridgeons League clubs.

The award of a bronze statute of two captains and a referee prior to the start of a match was presented by Steve Sutton of Ridgeons Limited to Diss chairman Des Tebble and secretary Steve Flatman.

In the last of the 2007/08 season Cup Finals to be played at Brewers Green Lane Buntingford Under-18s beat Kirkley and Pakefield Under-18s 4-0 in front of 73 supporters last Tuesday in the Ridgeons Youth League Championship play-off match. The goals were scored by Josh Bronti (2), Ricky Young and Jamie Morriss. Kirkley and Pakefield goalkeeper Callum King was named as man of the match.

There will be a Charity Football Match played in the memory of Jon Crosby at Diss Town Football Club on Friday May 23 (kick off 7.15pm). The match is between Diss Electrical Company and Saracens 'Old Boys'.

There is no entry fee but donations in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association and the National Trust will be taken. There will also be a raffle on the evening with the donation of prizes gratefully welcomed.

David Cobb (contact him on 07963 518657 for full details) will be holding a football course for five to 12-year-old boys and girls at Brewers Green Lane in the half-term holiday. The course will be held on Tuesday May 27 and Wednesday May 28 from 10am to 3pm.

The charge is £6 for either day or £10 for both days. He is also holding the Mini Kickers Evenings for five to 10-year-old boys and girls at BGL on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 7.30pm until August 27 at a cost of £1.50 per session.

The Diss Town Football Club annual end of season presentations will be included as part of the evening of music from Encore on Saturday May 24. There will also be a buffet and tickets will be priced at £7 each. Supporters are welcome to attend.

The Diss Town Football Club annual meeting will be held in The Clubhouse, Brewers Green Lane on Tuesday June 17 starting at 8pm.

Diss Town have so far arranged four pre-season friendly matches ahead of the 2008/09 season. They are at home against Ridgeons League Premier Division teams Kirkley and Pakefield on Tuesday July 15 and Needham Market on Tuesday July 22, away at Ryman Isthmian League Division One North (Bury, AFC Sudbury and Maldon play in this league) Aveley (they finished 11th last season) on Saturday July 26 and away at Anglian Combination Premier Division Blofield United on Saturday August 2.

Diss start their Ridgeons League Division One fixtures on Saturday August 9.
