HETHERSETT and Tas Valley Cricket Club are looking for teams to take part in their annual August Bank Holiday super sixes tournament.

The competition, which takes place at the club's Flordon headquarters, is open to players of all ages from junior to veterans and has been run successfully over a number of years to help bring down the curtain on the season.

Teams are split into mini leagues on a round robin style competition followed by semi-finals and a final with each match being five overs a side with all players (except the wicketkeeper) bowling an over. Refreshments are also available throughout the day and the action starts at 10am. Entry for the super sixes is just 10 a team.

'Super sixes is a real mix of fun and more serious cricket. A number of clubs enter every year and it is always a very enjoyable day for the whole family,' said club chairman Tony Smith.

Clubs and teams wishing to take part in the Super Sixes can contact Tony Smith on 07950711208.

The club is also lining up a number of social events over the next few months.

A race night will be held on September 5 in a marquee at the club ground. Tickets will be priced at 10 for adults. This will be followed by the annual fireworks and presentation evening on November 7.

The club is already planning fund-raising events for 2010 with a quiz on January 16 at a venue in Hethersett to be announced. Tickets for this will be 4.
