DISS, who host Newmarket in Ridgeons Division One on Saturday, continued their excellent run of away form when they made it five wins from seven league games with 4-1 victory at Cornard.

In contrast they have won at Brewers Green Lane just once in six starts.

The Tangerines got off to a perfect start when they took the lead in the third minute. Ben Nower threw the ball to Danny Partridge who crossed for Alan North to feed Ben Deacon in space and he shot in from eight yards for his 11th goal of the season.

Diss made it 2-0 in the 10th minute when Ed Cussons sent the ball over for Steve Best to head in his third goal of the season.

North missed a chance to increase the lead but Luke Catchpole scored a superb third before half-time, beating Darren Moyes from long range.

Cornard had more of the play in the second half after they pulled a goal back in the opening minute of the half. Richie Meadows played the ball through for Jason Carter to slip his shot past Nower.

The Diss goalkeeper made good saves to keep out shots by Ryan Lions and Meadows. Danny McKail drew a fine save from Moyes but beat the keeper to make it 4-1 just before the end following a fine pass from Catchpole.

Diss moved through to a home Ridgeons League Division One Cup quarter-final against Long Melford on Tuesday, December 2 with a convincing win at Greens Meadow against Stowmarket last Wednesday.

Diss went ahead three minutes into the second half. Steve Wright moved forward and hit a shot from 20 yards. Ross Charters pushed the ball away and Wright reacted quickly to fire home.

Diss finally made the game safe in the 88th minute. Deacon's shot was blocked and the ball fell for Danny Partridge to lift the ball over Charters and into net.

Three minutes into added time Cussons' pass found Partridge, who moved into space and shot in from just outside the penalty area.
