AFTER three weeks without a game Diss Ladies travelled to table-topping Norwich City II.

With just 11 players, Diss started quite well with some nice passing moves but although Norwich soon found their form and took control of the game they didn't create any clear cut chances and had several shots that went wide.

It was Diss who nearly took the lead when Tanya Chennery had an on target shot kicked away by the Norwich keeper. Norwich finally took the lead when they converted a well worked short corner.

The rest of the first half the Diss defence kept Norwich at bay to keep the score 1-0 at half time.

The second half started how the first finished with Norwich in the ascendancy, but as the game wore on Diss came into it more and more and pushed for the equaliser, however Diss got caught by a quick Norwich counter attack and Norwich slotted the ball home from six yards with the Diss keeper getting a foot to it but couldn't stop the ball crossing the line.

This didn't stop Diss and for the last 10 minutes they piled on the pressure and finally got their reward when Lucy Kershaw scored from just inside the D.

This made for an exciting last few minutes with Kershaw, Rolingson and Howard dominating midfield. With time running out Pam Keely came up from the back and twice came close to levelling, but it wasn't to be and Norwich took all the points.

Diss should take great heart from their second-half performance and on another day would have got something from the game.
