It has been a quick turnaround for Wymondham Wasps and Woodbridge Amazons. Just three weeks after their first encounter of the season, Amazons were the visitors to Tutles Lane where they were beaten 34-5.
Amazons always prove to be tough opposition. After a tense initial period, where both teams seemed to be camped on the halfway line, Libby Lockwood scored the breakthrough try. That gave Wasps the all-important platform to build on.
After some outstanding defensive work, Wasps soon fed Lockwood again, allowing her to score the second of the afternoon, converted by Nicola Kaciubskyj. More Wasps tries came from Kelsey Harpman, Harriet Wells (two) and Lockwood to complete her hat-trick, Kaciubskyj converting. Amazons scored one try but were unable to break an in-form defensive line. Forward of the match was Laura Seville, back of the match was Nicola Kaciubskyj and hardest working Wasp was Victoria Southward.
