HARLESTON Magpies men's hockey side maintained their onslaught on the league title with a gritty performance against their nearest rivals Cambridge University.
The students' preparation had been better than Magpies as they had only missed one weekend through the weather against Magpies II.
A 1-1 draw was thoroughly deserved and with St Albans drawing with Bedford and Havering losing to Bishops Stortford, Magpies grip on the title strengthened.
This weekend Magpies have a full squad to take on Cambridge City whose position at the bottom part of the table would indicate a win for Magpies.
With Havering entertaining St Albans and University hosting Blueharts, Magpies have a fine opportunity to pull further away from the chasing pack.
