A GLORIOUS sunny day saw Harleston Magpies IV travel to East Harling to play Diss Ladies.

The home side started strongly putting Magpies on the back foot somewhat, and took the lead early on. Diss doubled their advantage soon after from a short corner.

Magpies slowly started to get into the game, keeping a bit more possession, but Diss continued to threaten on the attack. Against the run of play, Magpies won a short corner, and a well-taken hit found Nic Beevor brilliantly positioned by the back post to tap in for the away side right on the stroke of half-time.

Magpies came out after the break a different side, with only minutes played when Kay Dennis drew the teams level, slotting home from a good ball through the middle.

Georgie Bore added a third with a cracking shot after a well-worked short corner routine. Kay Dennis got her second shortly after, sweeping the ball into the far corner of the goal.

The away side were really on a roll, with Zoe Cole and Rachel Clifford combining well on the forward line, Cole crossing in the D for Clifford to get a fifth for Magpies.

Clifford got her second soon after from a stinging cross from the right wing. Magpies stayed resolute at the back, the defence solid and confident on the ball, with the midfield supporting the attacking play.

An awesome result for Magpies, to come back from two goals down to win so comprehensively, shows the hard work, effort and determination the whole team displayed throughout the 70 minutes.

Final score: Diss 2, Magpies Ladies IV 6.
