Diss Town manager Rob Taylor will be instructing his troops to March away from Brewers Green Lane with all three points on Saturday (ko 3pm) as the promotion push gathers momentum.

March are currently in seventh place in the Ridgeons Division One table, four places below the Tangerines.

Ipswich Wanderers 1, Diss Town 1

While second-placed Stowmarket were beating league leaders Cambridge University Press, the third and fourth- placed teams were drawing 1-1 at Humber Doucy Lane.

Third-placed Diss played a man short for almost an hour and battled hard for their point after going behind early on.

Diss included Craig Skipp and Chris Gibbons in the squad — both had started the season at Brewers Green Lane and welcomed Kevin Leggett back from Wisbech.

Matt Buckle and Danny Phillips linked up in the fifth minute. Mark Shadrack tried to clear but the ball hit a post and Buckle put the loose ball in. Dan Wynne and Luke Catchpole had efforts saved by Jack Foster with Chris Ley missing a good chance at the other end.

In the 32nd minute a foul by Buckle produced a reaction and Diss had Brendan Foley sent off. Despite this Diss finished the first half strongly and equalised in added time. Danny Partridge beat the offside trap and rounded Foster before shooting in.

Phillips had some good chances but was off target twice and brought a good save out of Matty Webster.

Partridge had a decent chance midway through the second half but it was a great save from Webster to deny Buckle his second goal that ensured that the game would end level.

On Saturday, in Ridgeons Reserve League North, Diss Reserves visit their Stowmarket counterparts.

The same day, in Crown Fire League Division Four, Diss A host Tacolneston Reserves.

Tonight, in Ridgeons Youth League Central Division, Diss U18 pay a visit to Bungay and the following Thursday host Ipswich Wanderers.
