MATTHEW Vertigans, a pupil at Long Stratton High School, was tremendously successful when competing in the recent Norfolk County Swimming Association Championships and relay galas.
MATTHEW Vertigans, a pupil at Long Stratton High School, was tremendously successful when competing in the recent Norfolk County Swimming Association Championships and relay galas.
He won two gold medals in the 50m and 100m backstroke in the County Championships at Waterworld Thetford in his age group as well as three bronze medals.
Matthew swims for the Thetford Dolphin Swimming Club.
He then followed this success by helping the Thetford team to win two more gold medals in the county relay gala at the UEA pool in Norwich.
Matthew swam the butterfly leg in the 4 x 50m medley relay and the second leg of the 4 x 50m freestyle relay in the boys' 13/14 year age group.
