PETER Maybury turned in a fine performance for Shotguns B against Pulham in the Diss and District League's Leisure Sport Premier Division by winning all his games but ended up on the losing side as Pulham won 7-3.

Palgrave Terriers are up to second after an 8-2 win over Shotguns C. Tony Park was unbeaten which included a 7-11, 7-11, 11-6, 11-8, 11-9 win over Robert Crawford.

He was well supported by Will Cole and Jon Mortlock with a brace each but were both beaten by Crawford in the fifth leg on each occasion.

The C team bounced back with an 8-2 win over Withersdale and move above them into third in table. Maximums for Crawford and John Monk did the business.

The other result saw Shotguns B comfortably beat a two-man Ashlacton 10-0 although John Bryant narrowly lost to Stuart Langridge 12-10, 4-11, 13-11, 5-11, 6-11.

In the Speedy Bats Sports First Division, Thrandeston are in third spot following two wins

(6-4 against Palgrave Tornadoes and 7-3 against Shotguns E) where Kev Smith was unbeaten in both matches and a narrow 4-6 defeat against Shotguns F where Ken Bowman was the star performer for the F team.

Palgrave Stars are up to second after two wins over Ashlacton 6-4 and Botesdale Batters 8-2.

Terry Rayner was unbeaten in both matches which included a very close encounter against the Batters' Nigel Bowen where Rayner won 8-11, 11-3, 4-11, 11-6, 12-10. Against Ashlacton David Leeder also weighed in with a treble.

Botesdale Batters came back to beat Shotguns G 6-4 with a Nigel Bowen trio and a Bill Christoford brace before the pair teamed up for the doubles to beat Paul Sturman/Robin Shaw 11-4, 10-12, 11-6, 11-5.

Leaders Newton Flotman beat Palgrave Tornadoes 9-1 where their only loss was the doubles.

However, Alan Wothington can count himself a little unlucky not to take a point for the Tornadoes as he lost 6-11, 12-10, 11-9, 8-11, 9-11 to Mark Beswick and 11-5, 7-11, 11-4, 6-11, 6-11 to John Williams.
