Andrew Mears needed to get a good result to take the cup and he did just that when he won the match.

With snow landing and settling on the pole whilst he was fishing, it was going to be tough on the hands but it didn't stop Mears putting together his winning weight of 27lb 4.5oz.

This was made up of carp, skimmers, tench, roach and rudd - which either fell to double maggot or pellet hook baits.

Second went to junior angler Ben Orford, who had a similar mixed bag of fish to Mears and finished with 11lb 2oz. David Foulger came in third and weighed in his bag of fish for 9lb 2oz.
