Medals joy for athletes
IT was medals and personal bests all the way for three South Norfolk athletes, who competed at the British Masters Indoor Championships, held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in North London last weekend.
IT was medals and personal bests all the way for three South Norfolk athletes, who competed at the British Masters Indoor Championships, held at Lee Valley Athletics Centre in North London last weekend.
In the 60m event, Ian Foster, 65, of Pulham Market, become British M65 champion, winning gold in a season's best time of 8.26 seconds, just missing the British record by a second of a second.
Karen Hindle,42, of Tivetshall St Mary, stormed through to win silver in the W40 age group, in a personal best time of 8.51 seconds.
Andy Woods, 47, of Roydon, in the very competitive M45 group, achieved a personal best time of 8.01.

In the 200m, Karen gained the double with another silver, in a personal best time of 27.78, beating her previous best by nearly two seconds.
Ian also won his second medal, a silver this time, with second place and Andy set another best time of 26.91 to round off a very successful weekend.

The trio, coached by Ian, will now be setting their sights on the outdoor season, culminating in the British Championships to be held in Birmingham in July.
