At Ipswich CC, restricting their hosts to 202-4 gave hopes of a victory (James Ling 3-55).
They successfully kept Joe Rusby (98) and Sam Connolly (59) reasonably in check, but could not find any support for Benji Spinks (66) when they batted.
Only a cheery cameo of 24 from Kavit Rughani lifted the gloom as Stradbroke limped to 141 in reply.
Despite scratching around for a team all season, the B team fully expected to beat Saxmundham II. Of the seven bowlers used Billy Freeman failed to take a wicket, but his 10 overs went for just 12 runs as the visitors totalled 126.
Ollie Bickley scored 28 to put the home side on their way, clearing the decks for skipper Dan Tompkins to hit an unbeaten 45 in a five-wicket win. Victory over leaders Stowupland could clinch a spot in Section C next year.
