The first match back after the Christmas break saw Magpies Ladies IV, third in the league, take on visitors Broadland II, one place ahead of them in second.
Thus this was a game Magpies were out to win.
The home side started strongly, and went a goal up early on in the half, a Treacle Snelling strike from a short corner. Magpies enjoyed the majority of possession throughout the first half, attacking Broadland's goal, but only made another breakthrough minutes before the half-time whistle with a Rachael Clifford goal from close range.
The second half saw much of the same, with Magpies dominating the play, getting their third goal midway through the half, through another good Clifford effort. Clifford completed her hat-trick shortly after capping a fine personal performance. Laura Schultheiss grabbed a late fifth goal for Magpies with a well worked free-hit routine ending in a cracking strike from the top of the D.
A deserved victory and credit must be given to all 14 players. Final score 5-0 to Magpies.
