DISS Town's home form let them down again on Tuesday as they fell to their third successive defeat, 3-2, at Brewers Green Lane.

Gorleston moved into fourth place with a Norfolk derby win, and they are now just two points behind third placed Hadleigh.

For Diss it was another home disappointment, although they got off to a perfect start with a goal after just four minutes. Following Diss pressure a cross from Gavin Norman was turned in at the far post by Luke Catchpole.

Gorleston were level after 11 minutes when Luke Goreham played the ball to Peter Lambert. He was just inside the penalty area and floated the ball high over Michael Hilton who was well off his line.

A well-timed run by Gary Todd saw him put the Greens 2-1 ahead in the 24th minute when his low shot from 15 yards had too much power and went in despite Hilton getting a hand to the ball.

Catchpole equalised with his second goal of the night in the 35th minute; he created space for himself to a pass from Ben Deacon and fired a low shot into the corner of the net from the edge of the penalty area.

A poor clearance from Hilton in the 42nd minute found Todd 35 yards from goal. He hit a first time shot high into the net despite a desperate lunge from Hilton to keep the ball out.

There were no further goals although Todd and Gary Ingram twice came close to adding to the Greens' lead.

Elsewhere, leaders Tiptree drew 2-2 with Hadleigh United.

Town's next game is away to FC Clacton on Saturday. They are next at home against rock-bottom Long Melford on April 12.
