DISS OTTERS would like to welcome Jamie Rush as the new head coach.

Jamie has been with Diss Otters since 1997, when he started off as a young swimmer, and has seen the changes in the club over the years and understands how a competitive club operates. He has recently completed his degree at Sheffield University in Sport Science with Coaching and is embarking on one final year of study at Masters level, studying Strength and Conditioning.

Katie Bull, ex-head coach said: “When Jamie started university, he asked me to wait before standing down as head coach until he got his degree. I am very pleased to say this has happened and I feel that Jamie is going to a great asset to the team and wish him all the success.”

The committee feels that Jamie is highly motivated and has the necessary skills and drive to develop the competitive programme, building on an established platform for the future.

Jamie said: “My ambition is to continue the great work done by Katie and then improve on it by applying the academic knowledge I have obtained over the years, and my own innovation, to create an environment where we are seen as a positive example of how things should be done and to create a programme that produces high level results on a regular basis.”

Diss Otters is a competitive local swimming club with several swimmers attending East Regionals this summer. To arrange a trial to see if your child has the potential to swim at County, Regional and National level and to take advantage of fantastic coaching opportunities, contact Jamie Rush on 07738 427735.
