The ever popular annual Peter Palmer Memorial competition was held at Diss Golf Club on Sunday.

The weather was a little cooler than the previous weekend, which made playing conditions comfortable for the 60 players who took part.

The competition was won by Charlie Taylor with 42 Stableford points from Richard Jones on 41 points, who beat Paul Johnston into third place on countback. Ruth Ingram was first in the ladies’ section on 41 points, with Vicky Elliston the runner-up on 39.

The leading players received their prizes from Simon Palmer, son of the late Peter Palmer.

Two rounds of golf for four people at Diss Golf Club was auctioned which raised £180 for the ladies’ captain’s chosen charity, Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Diss pair Chris Bartram (78) and Josh Driver (81) both missed out in Open Championship regional qualifying at Luffenham Heath.
