Nine Diss and Eye Sea Angling Club members travelled to West Mersea on Sunday to fish for cod.
The sea was calm but it rained all day, and although there were plenty of fish caught, there were only two cod among them. Both were caught by Charlie Flatman, the rest of the catch was thornback rays, dogfish and whiting.
Biggest fish of the day went to Pip Mills from Diss, a 9lb 12oz thornback ray. Runners up were: Michael Thorndyke (Eye ) 6lb 8oz thornback ray, Charlie Flatman (Burgate) 4lb 4oz cod.
Other anglers were: Keith Carter (Hoxne), Paul Stow (Scole), David Newcombe (Tibenham), Colin Haddock (Thorndon), Nigel Bryant (Laxfield), Jon Knight (Scole).
Total fish caught were: two cod, four thornback rays, seven dog fish, and over 100 whiting.
