Redgrave beat Laxfield by four wickets. Skipper Dave Prince led from the front with bat and ball as Redgrave won a close contest against Laxfield by four wickets.

Laxfield won the toss and chose to bat on an inexplicably green wicket. Redgrave entrusted the new ball to the young duo of Robert Kayley and Jamie Austin.

The Laxfield opening pair feasted on an array of wayward bowling, and stood at 50 without loss. A double change saw Prince and William Ward into the attack. They immediately tightened the screws. Ward picked up the key wicket of Wilshaw, and Prince finished with admirable figures of 2-28 off eight overs. Williamson and Dawson then came in and continued to drag the game back into Redgrave's favour.

Both picked up three wickets, and going for only 27 runs in eight overs, Dawson's figures were the pick of the bunch. Kayley came back and picked up the wicket of Smith. Laxfield all out for 171.

Dawson came in looking to blitz the ball to all parts, and hauled out for 12. Williamson, on the other hand, continued his impressive form and along with Andy Austin, saw Redgrave to almost 100 in very quick time, before the latter was trapped in front for a fluent 28. This was the trigger for a mini Redgrave collapse, as Ward, J Austin, Blair, and Williamson (57) were removed in quick succession, leaving Redgrave in a precarious position at 128 for six.

But Prince and G Kayley took Redgrave past their target at a canter. Kayley (13no) played the supporting role, as Prince (29no) was savage on anything Laxfield chucked his way.

Redgrave 173 for six (Williamson 57, Prince 29 not out), beat Laxfield 171 all out (Dawson 3-27, Williamson 3-30) by 4 wkts.
