Diss Saracens retained the Harrison Cup, beating Holt 17-13 on Saturday.

In front of a large crowd of supporters from both rugby clubs, it was the Saracens who made the brighter start.

Following a Saracens scrum near the Holt five-metre line, number eight Keith Rix picked up from the base and scored to the right of the posts.

Fly-half Seb Goodge converted to give the home side an early seven-point lead.

Ten minutes later a ball flowed down the Saracens' back line before reaching forwards on the end.

Blindside flanker, Paul Cayley, was out on the left wing and crossed the Holt try line to score an unconverted try in the corner.

Holt mounted some attacks of their own and reduced the deficit 10 minutes before half-time when their lock, Paul Amiss, scored an unconverted try in the left corner.

The Saracens responded quickly and following a backs move started in their own half, the ball was recycled to the forwards.

Open-side flanker, Will Foote, crossed the Holt try line to score left of the posts. The conversion was not successful.

Half-time arrived with Diss Saracens leading 17-5.

Early in the second half Holt converted a penalty after the Saracens were caught offside. A period of scrappy play where neither side could gain an advantage was broken when Keith Rix was shown a yellow card for persistent infringements.

Holt finished the stronger of the two sides and scored an unconverted try in the last minute.
