SCOLE LADS FOOTBALL CLUB will be holding a training event on Thursday, June 25 at Scole playing fields from 7pm onwards as a special anniversary celebration.

It will feature players from all of its youth teams to celebrate the club's 30th anniversary of its foundation, as well as the 50th anniversary of the Scole playing fields being opened.

The club wishes to promote the facilities available for the local community and to show the quality of coaching available to local youth footballers.

Scole Lads has gone from strength to strength since its formation, boasting 12 youth teams last season from U8 right up to U18, including two girls-only teams at U11 and U14.

The club hopes to able to increase the number of teams for next season and more players are invited to join, as well as more helpers. Some exciting plans are in the pipeline and it is hoped to provide more information on these in the coming months.

The club is a Football Association Charter Standard Club and all teams have an FA qualified coach running them. The coaching team is headed by Lee Sturgeon, who holds the FA Level 3 UEFA B licence and he is supported by Jeremy Clipstone, who has a Level 2 UEFA B licence. Lee and Jeremy both also work for the football academy at Ipswich Town Football Club and have some excellent connections.

The club holds mini-soccer evenings at Scole playing fields every Wednesday from 7pm during the summer and welcomes players from age five upwards, of all abilities and from all backgrounds.

There is no need to sign on - just turn up and play. A small 2 fee is payable for each child to cover the admin cost.
