LONG Stratton Scorpions first team's victorious run is still going as they start their Division One challenge after being undefeated in Two last season.

Stratton Scorpions hosted East Coast Jesters. They came out playing a solid game with Jack Worcester scoring the first points of the game.

All of the team contributed to a tough first quarter unfortunately the Jesters had other ideas, scoring four three-point attempts taking them in to a 19-15 lead.

The second quarter saw the Jesters hold the lead for its duration despite good defensive play from Richard Brock, Nick Osborne Neil Baggot and Neil Smith. Jester held the lead at the half 40-33.

Both teams had a poor third quarter Andy Thacker and Rick Worcester combined to score 12 points being the only scorers for the Scorpions but Jesters fared even worse, getting only 11 points - seven from M Barns.

The fourth quarter saw the Scorpions push hard to get a win - playing hustle defence paid dividends and with five minutes of the quarter gone Scorpions were only two points down Ian Doy and John Coulton leading the scoring charge.

Scorpions found themselves down by five points.

During the last couple of minutes Scorpions again turned to Andy Thacker and Rick Worcester for points they combined for nine, two being clutch free throws scored by Andy as Scorpions ran out the victors 66-62.
