A 13-12 victory for Le Diss Sportif's Liz Rudling and Lindsay Penny over Morley St Botolph's Buckaneers pair Audrey Edmunds and Andrew Reeve proved the match-winning combination in the 3-2, aggregate 54-53 success.

The match was level after the triples with John Barsby, Lindsay and Steven Penny winning for the hosts and Reeve, Hayley Beales and Sarah Edmonds on top for Buckaneers. Richard Beales and Ken Wells beat Steven Penny and Barsby to level matters before captain Dave Smith and Jan Barsby won the decider.

Diss Waveney's two Division Three teams had a night to forget.

Duval crashed to a club record aggregate 65-22, 5-0, home defeat against table-toppers St Faiths Wanderers Wombats.

Yoshi Shinagawa, Tom Dickinson and Roger True offered the only spark of resistance in a

13-9 triples defeat, with the remaining four partnerships mustering only 13 points between them. Vikings did only slightly better at Bob Carter Leisure, losing 4-1, aggregate 64-31.

A 13-12 triples win for Peter Beales, Cyril Bromley and Robin Coe prevented a whitewash.
