Newly-crowned champions. Stradbroke A disposed of Needham Market's challenge without fuss, by 60 runs.

David Allum and Alan Barker opened up confidently, putting on 50 before Barker signed off with an elegant 22.

Allum had no thought of going anywhere, knowing that 46 runs would make him only the second Stradbroke player to score 1,000 runs in a season.

Stuart Taylor (33) guided him past this milestone, and yet another 50 during their stand of 74. Allum eventually went for 72.

Dan Tompkins hit a brisk 26, ensuring the visitors had to chase in excess of 200.

James Ling and Joe Pearson barred the door on an unresponsive pitch.

Soon the only interest was who would be top wicket taker for the season. Lee Bedwell (3-48) drew level on 29 wickets, as Liam Jones (42) gatecrashed the party with some clean hits. But Steve Warner removed him and by the end of the over, two more to retain his trophy, and take Stradbroke's unbeaten run to 11 games.
