Long Stratton 3, Reepham 2

ONE of the best games at Manor Road this season saw the Reds come through a thorough examination of their resolve and come from a goal down to turn over Reepham.

As well as it being a double over the Robins, it moved Stratton into the top three.

Stratton came close to taking the lead when centre-half Kaine Challen slammed a shot against the crossbar.

In the 35th minute Reepham opened the scoring and looked good value for their lead at half-time with the Reds struggling for creativity.

Adam Solley suffering from a back injury had to be replaced at the break.

Flint's introduction triggered an immediate urgency in Stratton's play. Just 41 seconds into the second half Stratton drew level, Flint playing a dangerous ball across the face of goal and the helpless Reepham defender putting into his own net. Flint went close twice more in the next eight minutes before Mark Whitmore fired Stratton into a deserved lead on 55 minutes. Soon after Reepham broke away and equalised triggering huge celebrations in the away contingent.

But that man Flint was going to have the final say as he capped a powerhouse 45-minute display with a fine goal in the 62nd minute, which proved to be the winner. Stratton Motor Company MoM: Stephen Blunt.
