NOW that the football season is over Long Stratton FC can reflect on another successful year on and off the pitch and look forward to the forthcoming season.

The reserves were promoted to Division Five of the Anglian Combination in Rob Eastaff's first season in charge and the ladies' team won their league.

On the youth side the club is making huge steps, the U16 lads will now move up looking to get their chance in the reserves.

There is an U10 side starting next season at the club. “Youth football is very important to Long Stratton,” said youth secretary Georgina Race.

“When you see how many of our senior players started with Long Stratton FC as youth players you realise how vital it is to have youth teams to feed the senior sides in years to come. Everyone at the club has been very supportive of the youngsters.”

It's not just matches and training, the club ethic saw the U11 side enjoy two trips to Carrow Road last season. The U11's played a Long Stratton veteran's team with the youngsters enjoying full use of the NCFC changing rooms.

The seniors then played each other, over 150 family members and friends watched.

The club's website is www.longstrattonfc.co.uk
