Diss Town FC's annual meeting was held at Brewers Green Lane on Tuesday.

Chairman Des Tebble welcomed members and reported that it was disappointing not to gain promotion - with the last four home games being lost cited as a major reason.

The club had changed manager just prior to the end of the season and under Rob Taylor it was hoped that promotion will be gained at the end of the 2008/09 season.

He thanked all of the sponsors for their support especially Woodys, Bodo Limited and J A Collins Electrical.

He also thanked President Brian Collins for his support and that of all the vice-presidents. He was pleased to be able to report that the club had won the Ridgeons Integrity in Football Award, with those responsible for catering and hospitality thanked as well as the players for their good disciplinary record.

He thanked the supporters for their continued high level of support which meant that the club had the second highest average crowd in the division.

He praised the various team managements, players and club officials for their efforts during the season.

Secretary Steve Flatman reported that first team crowds of 148 were the second highest average in division one, reserve team at 22 were the eighth highest and that U18 team managers Carl Edwards and Julian Mason had done a wonderful job and the team had attracted the highest youth league crowds with an average of 60.

He also praised Julian Mason for his work with Diss Reserves after he took on the role in October.

He thanked the supporters who attended games and hoped to see them all again next season.

Next season there will be a Diss U9 team run by David Cobb, playing Sunday morning mini soccer.

The meeting confirmed that Brian Collins would serve a second year as president and Doreen Gooderham was confirmed as president elect.

All officers were re-elected (Des Tebble as chairman, Danny Maskell as vice-chairman, Steve Flatman as secretary, Pam Flatman as fixture secretary and Tony Collins as treasurer).
