Wisbech Town 0 Diss Town 1
Diss gained a fourth straight win to move to 40 points and challenge for a respectable mid-table finish on their return to Ridgeons League Premier Division.
This game was similar to the one against Dereham with Diss soaking up early pressure and a combination of excellent defending and superb goalkeeping securing another clean sheet.
The game was played at a frantic pace from the kick off with both teams playing the ball along the ground. Wisbech mounted sustained pressure from the 9th minute for a two minute spell which saw Matty Webster pulling off three fine saves. The game developed into a high ball affair which seemed to suit Wisbech more. Diss were forced back but were defending well.
This pattern continued in the second half but a reversal was evident in the last 20 minutes. Danny Easlea had been on the field as a substitute for just four minutes when he scored a brilliant goal to snatch all three points. Diss played the ball out of defence and found Stuart Jopling on the left. A feature of his play has been his ability to shield the ball. He did so in this attack and laid the ball off to leading scorer James Pipe on the edge of the penalty area. He laid the ball into the path of Easlea to strike a bending shot from 18 yards out past the right hand of the diving goalkeeper Ricky Lovelace for his first goal of the season. The home goalkeeper admitted afterwards, “that was so well struck that no goalkeeper would have got anywhere near it”.
Diss Man of the Match: For the 13th time this season Diss kept a clean sheet. His team-mates rate him the best goalkeeper in this league and once again he displayed top quality skills which allowed The Tangerines to build on a 0-0 score and secure another valuable three points. For some outstanding saves it is Matty Webster.

Diss Town Reserves 0 Dereham Reserves 4
Diss Reserves competed well for much of this game by a Dereham side boosted by several First Team players needing match action. Many of the regular Dereham Reserves players were in action for Dereham Under-18s on the same night.
An even end to end opening first half an hour saw Dereham hit the post and have a shot kicked off the line. Scott Roberts curled a fine opening goal from the edge of the penalty area in the 32nd minute. A minute before half time a Diss mistake was latched on to and Scott Woodgate made it 2-0. Dan Francis headed in from close range in the 51st minute and Roberts completed the scoring 20 minutes from time.
