The Diss Town Football Club presentation evening was held last Friday at Brewers Green Lane. Chairman Des Tebble welcomed the large attendance and thanked club officers and committee members, sponsors and supporters for their commitment over the season.

He paid tribute to Sheila Mullenger and Dora Mills for their service of more than 30 years in providing hot drinks for supporters.

He thanked Rob Taylor and Steve Culyer for their efforts with the first team and Ian Barber for management of the reserve team. David Cobb was praised for the introduction of the U9 team to the club.

Tebble stated that Carl Edwards and Julian Mason had done an excellent job with The U18 team both in the 2008/9 season and for all three seasons of their management.

They had decided to step down from their positions at the end of the season and they were presented with a memento of thanks.

The award winners were: First team supporters' player of the season, Danny Partridge; First team players' player of the season, Mark Shadrack; Reserve team players' player of the season, Dave Adams; U18 team managers' player of the season, Steve Dungar; U18 team players' player of the season, James Hitter; U18 team most improved player, Scott Partridge; Adam Cutts Memorial Award, Jamie Allen; Club Loyalty Award, Sean Cook; Richard Gooderham Memorial Cup, Brian and Pauline Collins. Reserve team captain Karl Ansley presented Amanda Barber with a bouquet in appreciation of her support to husband Ian with organising the reserve team.

The Diss Town Football Club annual meeting will be held at Brewers Green Lane on Monday, June 15 at 8pm.

Pre-season training ahead of the 2009/10 season will start on Tuesday, June 16. All players wishing to rejoin the club or join as a new player should meet at Brewers Green Lane at 7pm.

There will be a soccer coaching course for five to 12-year-old boys and girls at Brewers Green Lane on Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29. The cost is �10 for either day or �20 for both days.

Monday, June 1 will see the return of Mini Kickers for five to eight-year-old boys and girls. This will be held every Monday during the summer from 6pm to 7.30pm at a cost of �1.50 per session. Full details of both events can be obtained from David Cobb on 07963 518657.
