DISS Vikings continued their march up the Norfolk Petanque League Division Three table with a 3-2 win at Bob Carter Sports. Ronnie Bartum, Bendt Hansen and Robin Coe notched a win in the triples but a 13-0 doubles defeat for Bartrum and Shirley Coe put the visitors behind.

However, they bounced back in style with wins for Robin Coe/Dave Booth and Hansen/Ken Roberts, conceding just five points between them to end the hosts' winning start to the season.

Diss Duval got back to winning ways in their first home game for six weeks with a 3-2 victory over Norwich Stars. Peter Turner, Chris and Jackie Johnson earned the hosts a point in the triples and the Johnsons combined to put Duval ahead in the doubles. After leading 6-0, they were pulled back to 7-6 but finished the game in one end with a six-point maximum.

It was left to Roger True and Steve Penny to wrap up the victory with a 13-9 win in their doubles game.

Le Diss Sportif lost 3-2 in Division Two at Morley Buckaneers. It was all square after the triples and in the second round of games Dave and Scott Marsh were jubilant as they won their first game of the season to put the visitors 2-1 ahead.

Almost simultaneously though Jan and John Barsby were defeated 13-6 and in a tense but thrilling final game, Liz Rudling and Mick Clarke succumbed 13-11 to leave Sportif still without an away win.

Hoxne Swan maintained their winning start to the season in the Suffolk Coastal Alliance with a 4-0 success at Cretingham Belles. Denise Collins led the way, partnering Steve Penny to a 13-2 win and Chris Johnson to a 13-1 success.

Chris and Jackie Johnson won their match 13-8 and it was left to Penny and Jan Pinder to complete the whitewash with a nerve-wracking 13-12 victory over Chris Davidson and Jane Hill.

Diss Sunset Boulevards' match at home to Wenhaston Swan was postponed.
